I fell in love with yoga in 1992 when a friend gave me a Bryan Kest video. I remember that first feeling of connection to my body, mind and spirit. I never wanted to forget that feeling, and became a student of Yoga. In 1998, I began leading classes. Teaching Yoga helps me to fulfill my life’s mission which is empowering those around me to become physically strong through all stages of their lives; to lead them to connect to their minds; strengthen their spirit so they access their energy and vitality.
I remain a student of Yoga and credit my knowledge to the various teachers in my lineage. These include my first teachers, namely Jo Ann Carter, Bobbi Goldin, Kevin Gardner, Baron Baptiste,and John Domenico. Beryl Bender Birch, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, and Simon Park and Denise Bonnaig, Elena Brower, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, and Ravi Singh. Some teachers have completely changed my perspective . I give thanks to Rolf Gates, Matthew Sanford and Max Strom for teaching me how to breathe. Jodi Greene taught me how to sit. I am also grateful for Hareesh Wallis for his genius teachings on Yoga history and philosophy.
I have spent over 600+ hours studying formally, and remain a student of Janet Stone. My biggest shift came from the teachings of Grace Clayton, who has opened my eyes, heart and soul to the world of conscious living. In addition, I recently completed a 500 hour study of Transcendent Leadership Training.
In actuality, my best teachers are the ones who come to my classes daily, and to my four amazing sons who give regular reality checks! II love Yoga because it helps me to do everything better. I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 30 years. I love to hike and be out in nature and I treasure time with my family and girlfriends.
