WORKSHOP
Marvels of Being a Misfit
Amita Mehta
|
Amita Mehta spent her life charting her own distinct path, despite overwhelming odds, and she helps others uncover their own unique traits and proactively utilize their "differences" to their advantage. Through vulnerability and candor, Amita shares how she embraced her past as a refugee and built credibility in a male-dominated field of financial services.
In Amita's own life, she faced an inflection point in her career—she could continue hiding who she was as a lesbian or she could lean into her truth. By choosing the latter, Amita became a fully self-actualized person and an authentic leader and someone colleagues sought out as an advisor and mentor. She encourages each participant to dig deeper, step into themselves, including the aspects that we typically try to hide, and be the kind of leader who inspires others to be their best. Key takeaways: Participants will walk away from the session understanding that when we lean into our "misfit" qualities, we increase our emotional intelligence and our ability to be inclusive and effective leaders personally and professionally. |
