Danielle Gletow, One Simple Wish
Danielle Gletow has been a passionate advocate for children’s rights for nearly two decades. As foster-adoptive parent, Danielle founded One Simple Wish in August 2008 with the mission of ensuring that every child who has experienced the trauma of child abuse and neglect gets a chance at a happy childhood. One Simple Wish has impacted the lives of over 30,000 young people in foster care in more 48 states and has established a network of over 750 Community Partners across the nation.
Danielle has appeared on numerous television and radio shows including CNN, NBC Nightly News, The Katie Couric Show, The Nate Berkus Show and The Real and has been featured in The Star Ledger, The Christian Science Monitor, The Washington Post and Woman’s World, among others.
In October 2013, Danielle was chosen as a Top 10 CNN Hero among tens of thousands of nominees worldwide. In addition, Danielle received the PANDORA Hearts of Today Award and was honored with the Evangelina Menendez Trailblazer Award by Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ). In May 2015, Danielle was also named one of America’s Most Influential Moms by Family Circle Magazine.
Danielle is a blogger for The Huffington Post and frequently speaks at schools, universities and businesses sharing her journey into the world of foster care and her bold move of leaving a lucrative career in marketing to follow her passion of helping kids in crisis live bright, happy childhoods.
Danielle currently resides in Central NJ with her husband, Joe, their two amazing daughters, Mia Rae and Liliana, and their two beloved dogs Duncan and Alice.
